Blood Trade, the new Jane Yellowrock book is set to be released on April 2! I have mine pre-ordered. I enjoy reading Faith Hunter’s urban fantasy books. I like her reading style and her books have all the elements I enjoy in a book: action, mystery, romance and supernatural beings! If you enjoy para-normal romance I highly recommend the Jane Yellowrock series.

The first book in the Night Huntress series introduces us to half-vampire Catherine Crawfield (Cat for short). Cat hunts and kills the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of the undead she kills will be her father. She is captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter.

Summary from the back of the books states:

Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She’s amazed she doesn’t end up as his dinner. Pretty soon Bones will have her convinced that being half-dead doesn’t have to be all bad. But before se can enjoy her newfound status as kick-ass demon hunter, Cat and Bones are pursued by a group of killers. Cat will have to choose sides…and Bones is turning out to be as tempting as any man with a heartbeat.

I enjoyed this book. The story is told from Cat’s point of view. It is fast-paced with action, mystery and humor. From the beginning, the reader can tell there will be sexual tension between Cat and Bones. Bones is a vampire with an attitude, but he can be sympathetic as well. Cat is snarky!…..and I do like snarky. While reading this book, I laughed out loud in some places and snickered in others. There is humor on just about every page.   Book also contains crude humor, vulgar language and sexual innuendo and talk…. All of which I enjoy in a book might I add. This book is for the adult reader who enjoys paranormal romance with touch of sex.  I highly recommend this book.

I’d like to know Bones point of view on some of the things that happened in the book. I enjoy reading a book that switches between the main characters’ point of view.

Aside

Reckoning by Jeaniene Frost

This story is a prequel to the Night Huntress series. I suggest you read this story before reading the Halfway to the Grave (1st in the Night Huntress series). This story is before Cat and Bones meet in the Halfway to The Grave book where readers are introduced to Cat and her special abilities as a half-vampire. In Reckoning, an insight is provided about Bones and his job as a vampire hunter. He is in New Orleans looking for vicious killers that are eating people during Marti Gras celebrations. I was excited to start reading this book, because I love Halfway to the Grave. At first, I had a hard time getting in to this story. The story line eventually picks up with Bones discovering who is committing the murders. There are fighting scenes and violence as Bones demonstrates his ability to fight. No romance or sex scenes in this book. I recommend it; a good read.
